About JEE Advanced
JEE Advanced is the final gateway to the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs under the Joint Admission Board (JAB). Only the top 2,50,000 rankers of JEE Main 2026 qualify to appear. The exam has two compulsory papers testing Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at an advanced conceptual level.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
Born on or after October 1, 2001 (5-year relaxation for SC/ST/PwD)
Number of Attempts
Maximum 2 attempts in consecutive years
JEE Main Performance
Must be in top 2,50,000 candidates across categories in B.E./B.Tech paper
Earlier IIT Admission
Candidates who previously accepted an IIT admission are NOT eligible
